Although EMR (Endoscopic Mucosa Resection) and ESD (Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection) methods are long established medically, few endoscopists have the opportunity to train and regularly apply these complex techniques.

Ten participants from Spain, Portugal and England attended the workshop organised by Lumendi and Izasa Hospital. Participants were given the opportunity to practice EMR and ESD methods for one day in excellent laboratory conditions. Participants also took advantage of the opportunity to network and discuss issues with experts in attendance.

The endoscopic removal of complex polyps is extremely demanding for gastroenterologists. Attendees confirmed the high value of this training opportunity in the treatment of complex polyps, especially regarding the rotating ESD technique, using DiLumen +Dynamic Retraction™.

Special thanks to the team at Izasa Hospital for their support.

Lumendi will continue providing support and training to doctors in the use of its innovative DiLumen +DR™ technology for endoscopic removal of complex polyps.
