In brief: This is a short review of our experience at the 25th UEG Week in Barcelona (October 28th – November 1st, 2017).
We were extremely busy during these days at our small booth on the exhibition floor.
We summarise our experience and share with you some visual impressions.
PS. Further below we also show you a press release regarding our next FDA application for the second generation DiLumen products.
The UEG conference in Barcelona is over. Here is a short report about our experience at the convention.
What did we show at our booth?
Everybody in gastroenterology seems to attend the UEG congress. Over 13,300 delegates, presenters and partners attended the 2017 which marked the 25th anniversary congress.
Lumendi occupied a 3m X 3m = 9 square meters. Not much but a lot of space for many people to stop by and get information from us.
Lumendi staff demonstrated a 130cm DiLumen on a long Pentax colonoscope.
We also had a second product from our DiLumen platform of products. However this one was not mounted on a scope.
On the back wall of our booth we had a monitor installed that displayed
– a product video,
– our DiLumen application animation, and
– two procedure videos.
Of the latter two videos, one video showed attendees the resection of a splenic flexure polyp via EMR with DiLumen.
The other video showed an Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) with DiLumen. It demonstrated the ability to clip the dissected edge of the mucosa to the balloon. In turn it created traction to improve dissection.
What work did we accomplish?
We collected many leads, mostly from Europe, as one might have expected. Of course, this was our plan.
We also had the opportunity to meet with several gastrointestinal (GI) clinicians.
They were all eager to start one we receive the CE Mark.
We also spent significant time with potential dealers all over Europe and the Middle-East.
Feedback from GI clinicians was very positive
Quite a few expressed an interest in using our product as soon as possible. Everyone understood the concept and value behind the improved stability and visualization of the DiLumen.
The ability to stretch and manipulate the colon was, of course, of great interest to those clinicians visiting our booth. The clipping technique was of great interest, since it does empower clinicians a great deal when having to perform dissection.
Those doing Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) were very enthusiastic about the clipping technique.
